As of October 4th the Nova Scotian Government is making proof of double vaccination mandatory for everyone attending a social gathering. Tatamagouche Centre is now required to see a proof of vaccination for all guests attending an event. No exceptions can be made. Click here to see the NS COVID-19 Protocols for proof of full vaccination for events and activities.
Guests will be asked to sign in for contact tracing and to sign a waiver form agreeing to take responsibility for upholding health and safety practices related to COVID-19 and to acknowledge the risks involved.
Learning Programs and Hosted Events
Tatamagouche Centre will be maintaining COVID-19 protocols including 6 feet distance between people gathering and the use of masks in public spaces except for while eating. This includes trips to washrooms etc. We recognize that these guidelines are stricter than the public health guidelines. Masks and shields may be removed to eat.
Gatherings will be no more than 1 hour at a time using open doors and windows where possible. Break-out rooms are available and we encourage the use of our beautiful outdoor spaces.
Each participant will be given a small package of markers, a disinfectant spray bottle and paper towels to reduce sharing between people. Paper handling is discouraged at this time.
Offices are limited to one person so people are asked to not enter offices but are welcome to talk at the doorway.
Lodging and Meals
Tatamagouche Centre can host and lodge up to 25 people overnight with single rooms, sinks and bathrooms depending on family and travel bubbles. Please note that in some of the accommodations participants have shared showers. Participants are asked to use their own cleaning supplies to ensure that their spaces are clean. We commit to rigorous cleaning before and after programs but do not have the staffing to clean lodging daily.
Capacity to gather can increase up to 30 with room sharing within bubbles. We have capacity to host up to 30 in our dining room with safe physical distancing for gatherings/events. Payment via cheques or cash is discouraged at this time. Payment online is encouraged.
All meals will be served individually plated and covered, not the usual buffet style. Guests are asked to approach the counter masked and one at a time. Distancing and directions are clearly marked. As usual, dietary accommodations will be respected.
COVID-19 Vaccination and Safety Measures Policy for Tatamagouche Centre Staff
All staff are invited to show proof of full vaccination. Staff who are not able to provide full vaccination proof are required to follow extra safety measures, including:
- Regularly complete rapid testing, at minimum of once per week
- Perform their work in ways that limit their contact with guests/members of the public
While we cannot guarantee that all staff are vaccinated, Tatamagouche Centre will employ practices that meet or exceed Provincial safety guidelines for hosting and programming. The details may change as the situation continues to evolve. Currently, the following guidelines are in place:
- All staff and guests are required to wear masks and follow social distancing in public spaces (6 feet apart).
- All staff and guests are required to stay home when they feel sick and follow Public Health testing requirements.
- We have added extra staff during this time to ensure that washrooms are cleaned daily and our main meeting areas are clean.
- All guests, including program leads, are required to show proof of full vaccination.
We commit to doing our very best to hold all of this and move safely forward. And to keep communicating what we are doing with all of our guests.
