Travel and Visitor Restrictions

We ask that participants visiting from high COVID-19 case cities and areas (according to each Province’s identification) to provide proof of negative tests 5-7 days before attending the program. e.g. areas marked Code orange/red (NB) or areas given travel warnings for  non-essential travel (BC). Recognizing that there is a cost for private testing in some provinces, we are happy to pay these fees. Some Provinces are asking for proof of double vaccination to travel & participate in non-essential activities without having to self-isolate upon return home including Nova Scotia as of October 4th.

If you are traveling by plane, bus or train, review Federal government identification of exposure sites for COVID-19:

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/latest-travel-health-advice/exposure-flights-cruise-ships-mass-gatherings.html

Guests will be asked to sign in for contact tracing and to sign a waiver form agreeing to take responsibility for upholding health and safety practices related to COVID-19 and to acknowledge the risks involved.

Learning Programs and Hosted Events

Tatamagouche Centre will be maintaining COVID-19 protocols including 6 feet distance between people gathering and the use of masks in public spaces except for while eating. This includes trips to washrooms etc. We recognize that these guidelines are stricter than the public health guidelines. Masks and shields may be removed to eat.

Gatherings will be no more than 1 hour at a time using open doors and windows where possible. Break-out rooms are available and we encourage the use of our beautiful outdoor spaces.

Each participant will be given a small package of markers, a disinfectant spray bottle and paper towels to reduce sharing between people. Paper handling is discouraged at this time.

Offices are limited to one person so people are asked to not enter offices but are welcome to talk at the doorway.

Lodging and Meals

Tatamagouche Centre can host and lodge up to 25 people overnight with single rooms, sinks and bathrooms depending on family and travel bubbles. Please note that in some of the accommodations participants have shared showers. Participants are asked to use their own cleaning supplies to ensure that their spaces are clean. We commit to rigorous cleaning before and after programs but do not have the staffing to clean lodging daily.

Capacity to gather can increase up to 30 with room sharing within bubbles. We have capacity to host up to 30 in our dining room with safe physical distancing for gatherings/events. Payment via cheques or cash is discouraged at this time. Payment online is encouraged.

All meals will be served individually plated and covered, not the usual buffet style. Guests are asked to approach the counter masked and one at a time. Distancing and directions are clearly marked. As usual, dietary accommodations will be respected.
