Love and healing prayers

Please send love, healing energies and prayers to Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and Sipekne’katik First Nations communities

We are reaching out to our community to ask for your love, healing energies, prayers and meditations at this time for Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation and Indigenous communities and their 215 children uncovered in a mass grave at Kamloops Indian Residential School.

We are also asking you to send energies, prayers and meditations as Sipekne’katik First Nation community resumes fishing lobster under communal, social, and ceremonial licenses tomorrow. We hold that the Mi’kmaq have inherent Treaty rights and ask that the Federal government honour these rights – nation to nation.

This invitation comes in support of The Inter-Faith Coalition for Treaty Rights (see Statement of Principles) comprised of Buddhists, Unitarians, Quakers, members of several Christian denominations, and other justice groups who have come together to invite expressions of hope, prayers, non-violence. Please write to Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, and Hon. Marc Miller, Minister of Indigenous Services to request your support for the Mi’kmaq to exercise their treaty rights to fish on their own terms with protection from unnecessary arrests and violence. We also hold that there is more accountability, ownership, truth and reconciliation that needs to happen to redress the dark history and harm to Indigenous communities by our faith institutions. Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Kukpi (Chief) Rosanne Casimir is asking for accountability for the missing and undocumented children from both the Catholic Church and the Federal Government.
