Josie Baker
Executive Director

Josie Baker is Executive Director of of the Tatamagouche Centre. Her educational background is adult education, community development, religious studies, and feminism. She is a queer woman and has a strong grounding in anti-oppressive community work. Before taking on the leadership of the Tatamagouche Centre, Josie spent seven years with Cooper Institute in Prince Edward Island as a migrant worker rights activist both locally and nationally. She has also worked on issues of food and seed sovereignty, reproductive justice, and anti-racism. She is committed to finding innovative ways of creating challenging, inclusive, and safer spaces in which to build individual and community resilience.
