Facilitators at the Centre are versed in our ASPIRE transformative education model and norms or are connected with someone who is.

Our philosophy of education is a transformative process that connects the inner work of healing and wholeness with community work. The aim is personal and social transformation. Our foundational program ASPIRE is a personal and social transformative learning process grounded in Freirian-style critical consciousness education and community organizing. It was founded by Helene Hannah, an early feminist educator who believed in drawing from the wisdom of participants in the room and rooting education in action and reflection, the local context of needs and organizing. Over the years, experienced and diverse adult educators have included elements of anti-racism, anti-oppression and trauma-informed practices. It is a process of holding space drawing on the wisdom of facilitators and participants, embodied practices rooted in current structural realities and norms leading to collective analysis, reflection and action. Essentially, we create safer, more welcoming containers where people can bring more of their full selves. These containers might be learning workshops, healing or contemplative workshops, advocacy campaigns or ceremonial gatherings.
